Welcome to Day Out tours website, I hope you like what you have found and will select us for your tour experience. As we said on the Home page, we want you to go home with a smile on your face content that you had the best possible tour experience. And it was green!
We aim to offer a more comfortable tour experience using our luxury European vehicles, as well as offering some tours that are different to the norm. Our driver guides are all local and are passionate about the region in which they live, and are keen to share that with you.
Our first year of operation in 2018/2019 was very successful with some very pleasing reviews by guests on TripAdvisor and Google. The experience gained has allowed us to examine what guests seek in a tour and expand on that. We hope that you have found the selection of tours we offer to be appealing and good value, and that you have found one that suits you.
Our Exclusive Private tours are for those who seek a private experience, whether they be a family group or a couple, and the range of tours we offer these guests enjoys a wide variety of amazing experiences. The BMW X5 ensures we can go anywhere there is at least a track, in safety and comfort, and normally far beyond the limits of the average rental vehicle.
Our Luxury Group tours are for those who are happy to mix it up with other guests, make new friends and share the experiences of the day as the tour progresses. The tours listed were found to be the most popular last year and we are therefore going to focus on those. The group tours are done using a luxury Mercedes Benz minibus.
Those of us who live at ‘the Top of the South’, as it is colloquially known, are fortunate to live in such an abundant and beautiful part of the world. Surrounded by three outstanding National Parks, the Nelson region is New Zealand’s fourth largest producer of wine of which many are highly awarded, is the centre for New Zealand’s hop growing attracting many craft brewers, and has attracted many artisans who have brought their skills in cooking, art, sculpture, pottery, art glass and many others to the region, ensuring a rich and abundant diversity to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. All this and we enjoy more days of sunshine than anywhere else in New Zealand, typically over 300 days a year!
We would be delighted to welcome you on one of our tours, so you can get to know and understand
this region better, and see the best of it. We guarantee you will not be disappointed!
I look forward to seeing you, Jim Kennard
Do you want a tour that does not add to the atmosphere’s carbon load? At Day Out we are striving for CarbonZero status and, to achieve this, our vehicles and their emissions are regularly audited by a professional third party. Based on audit results, we buy Carbon Credits to offset our contribution, these Credits being used for native reforestation planting in New Zealand and Polynesia. We can also offer guests opportunities to offset the carbon footprint from other travel activities.
