Nelson is blessed with upwards of ten craft breweries, all producing their own amazing brews. This tour introduces you to some of these amazing beers, the variety of flavours, the story behind them and how hop growing and craft beer brewing has become a major local industry.
Depart Nelson at 10:30 for McCashin’s Brewery, in time for the 11:00 daily 40 minute tour (closed toe shoes essential for entry), before sampling some of their ales, all included in McCashin’s $25 entry fee.
Then on to the Eddyline brewery, founded by a young American couple, to try some of their very different, US influenced brews.
Lunch at New Zealand’s oldest pub, The Moutere Inn, for 1 hour
Visit Mapua Wharf and sample Great Bear brewery beer at their brewery.
Visit Nelson’s Hop and Beer Museum, Founder’s Park to understand Nelson’s 170 year beer brewing history.
Return to Nelson, tour length approximately 5 hours.
